I agree with you that an active Gay Bishop would be a travesty and there is no such thing, in my opinion, as same sex marriages. With regards to the celibacy of clergy this is a matter of discipline and there are many married priests in the Roman Catholic Church (usually in what is called the Uniate Churches)Father Mervyn Jenningshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17053613428222136067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4197204543030756767.post-28393516498421849562010-03-15T03:47:01.183+00:002010-03-15T03:47:01.183+00:00Would you please explain to me why you have taken ...Would you please explain to me why you have taken the positon that a woman should not be made a Bishop in the Church of England. If you follow the Roman Catholic's in that women should not be allowed to be Bishops or priests then it would seem to me you should be following their postion that priests should not marry.

We have never had a woman Bishop in our Diosease, although we have a few women priests. I would get upset and leave the church should a gay Bishop ever be elected. I would also leave if my Bishop were to allow same sex marriage.

I look forward to your reply.

Your's in Christ

Dave Websterdeaconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00351593412724914012noreply@blogger.com
